30,000 Visas issued to skilled workers by Germany in 1 year

Germany has issued almost 30,000 work visas to third country citizens in the first year of existence of her Skilled Workers Immigration Act in spite of the global Covid-19 pandemic.

The Act which came into force on March 1, 2020 allows workers with quality vocational training from non EU countries seek employment and fill positions where there is a shortage of qualified german workers.

This milestone was announced by the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Home Affairs which in a press release, laid out various achievements made since inception of the act.

This is as the Federal Employment agency also set up a service point for qualified professionals abroad to carry out professional recognition
